1dl Gallo Olive Oil Special Selection
- 600g Fresh tuna steaks
- 125g White and red onions (sliced)
- Garlic (crushed) to taste
- 100g Fresh tomatoes (diced)
- 50g Green and red bell peppers (julienned)
- Fresh basil to taste
- Freshly milled pepper to taste
Method of preparation
Season the tuna steak with the freshly milled pepper and rock salt.
Slice the onions.
Heat the Gallo Special Selection Olive Oil, add the garlic and, once golden, add the red peppers and onions, and braise.
Remove the onions and fry the tuna steak using the same olive oil, finishing off with a few drops of Gallo White Wine Vinegar.
Sautee the diced tomato.
Place the onions back in the frying pan and place tomatoes over the tuna steak.
Serve very hot, decorated with a sprig of basil and sprinkle with freshly milled pepper.
May be served with mashed potatoes. The fact that everything is cooked in the same pan means that the flavours of the various stages of confection complement each other.
